GameChanger allows scorekeepers to select the level of detail they wish to assign to their teams and their opponents while scoring their basketball game dependent the select mode of coverage. Some teams will prefer to score generically to the team or opponent for ease of scoring, while others may wish to assign points, assists, and rebounds directly to specific players for a more detailed analysis in review and game prep.
Player Attribution in Simple Scoring
For games that you choose the Score points option, you can enable or disable player attribution. This setting for simple scoring applies to both teams. If you disable attribution, you will be scoring total points for each team without assigning to any players. This setting is decided before you begin covering the game, but you can also edit this after you've begun scoring.
- While simple scoring, select the Menu in the top left corner.
- Choose Game Settings.
- Under Player stat attribution tap the toggle to switch it on or off.
If you score without attribution, team Staff and designated scorekeepers can still go back and add attribution later by editing past plays.
Player Attribution in Stream and Score
When you use the Score points & record video option, you can choose to assign points only to the teams or attribute them to specific players.
This setting for Stream and Score does different things dependent on whether it is a team event or an Org event:
- For an individual team event, this setting applies only to your team, not the opponent.
- For games scheduled in a league or tournament, this setting applies to both teams.
This setting is decided before you begin covering the game, but you can also edit this after you've begun scoring.
- While streaming and scoring, select the Settings in the middle of the scoreboard.
- Under Assign points to players tap the toggle to switch it on or off.
If you score without attribution, team Staff and designated scorekeepers can still go back and add attribution later by editing past plays.
Opponent Attribution in Full Stats Scoring
When you choose to score with full stats, attribution to your own team is always on. You can choose to toggle the level of detail that you wish to attribute to your opponent team's players.
- While Scoring points + full stats, select the Menu in the top left corner.
- Tap on the toggle next to Opponent scoring to toggle between attribution on and off for your opponent.
