Streamers can now use external cameras while live streaming video of their teams from iOS and Android devices. 

GameChanger supports a maximum streaming resolution of 1080p for external cameras. 
Even if your camera supports higher resolutions, select 1080p or lower.  If you stream above 1080p, GameChanger will not broadcast or record the video.

The following external cameras listed below are supported at this time, as well as other cameras that use RTMPS live streaming:

• Mevo Start
• Mevo Plus
• GoPro Hero 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 Black, 13
• GoPro Max
• OBSBOT TailAir
• XBotGo AI Gimbal, Chameleon

For cameras that are not listed, please check your manufacturer's technical specifications for streaming capabilities.

Stream Keys and URLs are specific to each event you stream; therefore, the instructions below will need to be repeated for every event streamed from an external device.

When streaming using an external camera using an RTMPS URL and Key, generated by GameChanger, users are dependent on the software of the camera manufacturer. In that streaming setup, settings such as focus, resolution, and zoom are those of the device manufacturer. Unfortunately, controlling those settings is out of our application's control. Please reach out to your respective manufacturer to resolve any issues with those features.

Livestream to Other External Cameras

1. Select the appropriate team.
2. Navigate to the Schedule tab and select the event that you wish to stream for.
3. Tap the Record Video button.
   
4. If you haven’t previously used the feature, grant GameChanger permission to use your device’s camera and microphone.
5. From the preview screen, tap External Camera at the bottom of the screen.
6. Set the audience you wish to stream to.  More about audience controls here.
7. Select if you want to share the stream with your opponent.  More information on Shared Streaming can be found here.
8. Tap Continue to External Camera Setup
   
9. If you are using an external camera that is not a Mevo device, you will use the Other camera button to access your RTMPS streaming information.
   
10. Copy the Full RTMPS URL or RTMPS URL and RTMPS Stream Key, depending on your camera's set-up.
    
11. Navigate back to the camera app and paste the Full RTMPS URL or RTMPS URL and RTMPS Stream Key.
12. Complete the streaming setup depending on your camera.

13. You can view your stream from within the GameChanger app by tapping on the Live tile

    Some external camera apps do not support the app being placed in the background when streaming.  This action may terminate your stream.  It is advised that you check your stream from a different device.

14. To end your stream, you must do so from within the camera’s app.

Please note that some external cameras do not support streaming with RTMPS.  While GameChanger does prefer the more secure RTMPS, we do understand that users may want to use a device that only streams via RTMP.  Please see our Live Streaming From An External Camera (Insecure) support article.
