Announcements are a one-way communication tool that lets orgs and teams send important updates to their GameChanger communities. With Announcements, Organization Admins can message their teams without needing to join individual teams or use 3rd party apps. Similarly, team Staff can ensure updates are easily found rather than getting buried in busy team chat threads or external emails.
Creating an Announcement
To create and send an announcement for your Organization as an Admin or Staff for a team:
- Navigate to your Organization or Team page.
- Tap the announcement icon (megaphone) in the top right corner.
- Press Create announcement, or if you have active announcements, tap the compose icon in the top right corner.
- Select the audience for your announcement.
- Org Admins - You can choose other tournament admins, team staff or team families individually or select all. Other tournament admins are always selected so that they can also receive a copy of the announcement.
- Team Staff - You can choose other team Staff, team families and friends or team followers individually or select all. Other team Staff are always selected so that they can also receive a copy of the announcement.
Create your announcement including a Subject, Details, any desired attachments, and setting an expiration date.
- The Subject and Details are required fields.
- Up to 5 attachments can be included. The following file types are accepted: jpg, jpeg, png, heic, and pdf.
- By default all announcements will expire in 120 days. The expiration date can be adjusted, but the maximum value is 180 days from the current date.
- Announcements will expire at 11:59 PM ET on the expiration date.
Announcements cannot be edited once sent so please review before continuing.
- Once you are satisfied with your announcement, hit Send.
Org Admins and team Staff can review previously sent announcements from the Organization’s/Team's announcement page. Expired announcements will be shown in the expired tab.
Tracking Announcement Read Counts
Organization Admins and team Staff can track how many people viewed their sent announcement:
- From your Organization's/team's announcement screen, tap into any sent announcement.
- The detailed view displays an active Read Count showing exactly how many of your targeted recipients have clicked into and opened the message.
Deleting an Announcement
To delete an announcement from your Organization as an Admin or from your Team as Staff:
- From the announcement screen, tap the announcement you wish to delete.
- Tap the delete icon in the top right corner.
- Confirm that the announcement should be deleted.
Deleting an announcement will delete it from the recipients' inboxes and a placeholder will be displayed in its place letting them know that an announcement was deleted. This placeholder will disappear after 24 hours.
Reading Announcements
To read an announcement for an Organization as an Admin, Staff, or confirmed member:
- Select the Messages tab at the bottom of the app.
- Toggle over from Chat to Announcements.
- From the list, select an announcement to read by tapping on the desired announcement.
Attachments cannot be previewed from within the app and will need to be downloaded.
The Admin/Staff that created the announcement, will not see their announcement in this tab. The creator will need to review their announcement from within the Organization's Announcements page under the Active tab.
