Team Staff have the ability to delete messages posted by other users in the team’s chat channel.
When a message is deleted, it is removed from view for all members of the channel. In its place, a notice will appear indicating that the message was deleted by Staff. Replies to the deleted message will remain visible, though the original message content will be removed from within those reply threads as well.
- Deleted messages cannot be restored
- The user who posted the message will not be notified, but will see the removed notice over their former message
- Once a message is deleted, it can no longer be reported
Deleting a Message as Staff
- Open the team chat channel in the app.
- Find the message you want to delete.
- Long press on the message to bring up the message options menu.
- Tap Delete from the list of available controls.
- Review the confirmation prompt.
- Tap Confirm to delete the message, or tap Cancel to go back without making any changes.
Once confirmed, the message will be immediately removed and replaced with a notice that the message was deleted by Staff.
