Become Familiar With Your Device
Just like your athlete has practice, streamers should practice connecting and setting up their device before going to the court or field. Learn the time it takes to get the device and stream set up before you need to run a stream for a real event.

When streaming on GameChanger with an external camera, users are dependent on the software of the camera manufacturer. Settings such as focus, resolution, and zoom are controlled within the device manufacturer's streaming application.

Most external cameras have a fixed field of view. Some have different settings that can be changed for different views, or zoomed in. Learn where those settings are and familiarize yourself with them so you can make adjustments as needed as you are setting up your stream.
Some external cameras have a limited range between the camera and the connected mobile phone or tablet. We advise that users stay as close to the camera as possible with the controlling device, especially when using a cellular connection for streaming.
Please reach out to your respective manufacturer to resolve any issues with those features.
Test Your Network Strength
Streaming with external cameras can require higher upload connection speeds than when you use your Android or iOS device. Upload speed is a much better predictor of stream performance than the number of bars you see on your mobile device or portable hotspot.
When setting up your stream, use speedtest.net or other speed test websites/apps to test your network before you start your stream. This will give you an indication of what upload speeds you are working with.
Once you have your speed test results, reference the chart below for your recommended streaming resolution.
Many speed tests will provide the download results first. Please ensure you use the upload results as the reference for your live streaming strength.

Connect Your External Camera
Connect your external camera and mobile device to the network that you will use to stream. The steps to set up are dependent on your device.
Be aware that many managed WiFi networks such as schools, hotels, convention centers and "Guest" networks may block the ability to connect and/or stream with an external device.
Before starting:
- Power on your GoPro camera.
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device.
- Install or update to the latest version of the GoPro Quik app.
- If using WiFi, onnect your mobile device to the network you want to use.
Once you've set up:
- Follow the GoPro deep link in your GameChanger event to setup your stream.
- In the GoPro Quik app, tap on Connect to a Network.
- Choose your connection:
- WiFi — Select the network name and enter the password.
- Cellular — Tap Turn on Personal Hotspot. This opens your device settings so you can enable the hotspot.
- Complete your settings and tapSet Up Live Stream. Once the preview screen finishes loading, tap Go Live to start broadcasting to your RTMP destination.

Before starting:
- Power on your Mevo camera.
- Enable Bluetooth and WiFi on your mobile device.
- Install or update to the latest version of the Mevo Camera app.
- If using WiFi, connect your mobile device to the network you want to use.
Once you've set up:
- Follow the Mevo Camera deep link in your GameChanger event to set up your stream.
- Select your connection, then tap the blue button to continue:
- WiFi — Tap your network from the list, enter the password, and tap Join. If your Mevo has connected to that network before, it reconnects automatically.
- Cellular — Tap Cellular Data, follow the prompts to join the Mevo network, then acknowledge the notice about leaving the Mevo app while streaming. Do not turn on your personal hotspot; the camera and your device create their own connection through the Mevo Access Point.
- Wait for the camera to connect and the production screen to load. From there you can control the camera, adjust framing, and select your streaming destinations.

Before starting:
- Power on your Mevo camera.
- Enable Bluetooth and WiFi on your mobile device.
- Install or update to the latest version of the Mevo Studio app.
- If using WiFi, connect your mobile device to the network you want to use.
Once you've set up:
- Follow the Mevo Studio deep link in your GameChanger event. The app opens to the Live Destinations page.
- Tap the X in the top left, then Library in the bottom left.
- Locate your camera. Previously paired cameras appear here with a green Connect icon. To change an existing network, tap the three-dot icon, then Edit Network.
- Set up your connection:
- WiFi — Tap Load Wi-Fi Networks, or Scan QR Code if one is available. Select your network, enter the password, and tap Join. Previously used networks reconnect automatically.
- Cellular — Select Access Point Mode (Wireless), then follow the Start Setup and Create Network prompts. Tap Join when prompted. Do not turn on your personal hotspot; the camera and your device create their own connection through the Mevo Access Point.
- Tap Add more cameras to connect another camera, or tap Done.
- From the Library, tap Studio in the bottom menu, then Live. Tap your destination so it is outlined in blue, then tap Go Live.

Before starting:
- Power on your XbotGo device.
- Enable Bluetooth and WiFi on your mobile device.
- Install or update to the latest version of the XbotGo app.
- If using WiFi, connect your mobile device to the network you want to use.
Once you've set up:
- Connect the device to the XbotGo app, then tap the recording camera button.
- Select the dedicated mode to enter the monitor screen.
- Tap the Live icon to begin live stream setup.
- Tap Video & Network Settings and select your resolution, then:
- Cellular — Tap the back arrow to return to the live stream setup page.
- WiFi — Tap Select WiFi Network and choose your network, then tap the back arrow to return to the live stream setup page.
- Tap Start Livestream, read the warning, and tap Got it.
